One of the really good ones here in New York City is City Harvest which collects the excess food that would usually go to waste from restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, farms and manufacturers and distributes it to community programs throughout the city. A great way to help feed people in your community is to first check websites that help donors evaluate charities such as Charity Navigator or the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance to locate charities where your donations & volunteer activities will be best used. - sponsored ads - |
